HB 3113 - Limits rent increases in subsidized housing (SUPPORT)
This bill has passed in the House and has a public hearing in the Senate Housing and Development Committee on May 6th at 1 pm
SB 608 from 2019 created a rent cap in Oregon, but subsidized housing providers were exempt. As a result some residents in subsidized housing were receiving massive rent increases. This bill would limit those increases in some cases.

SB 282 A - Extend the eviction moratorium grace period (SUPPORT)
This bill was passed out of the Senate. It had a work session in the House Committee on Housing and is awaiting a second work session
SB 291 A - Screening Requirements (SUPPOT)
This bill has passed in the Senate and has a hearing in the House Committee on Housing on May 6th at 8:00 AM
HB 3115 - Restricting Sit Stand Lie Laws
This bill has passed in the House and has a public hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 4th at 8:30 AM.
The politics around this bill are complicated. Sit stand lie laws are horrible and discriminatory laws that traumatize or neighbors living in public space. Houseless advocates helped to craft HB 2367, The Right to Rest Act to address this issue. The Right to Rest Act was not given proper attention in the legislature in favor of HB 3115, which was drafted by power holders without input by people living unhoused. While the bill would make things better than they are now, it is much weaker than the Right to Rest Act, and has been received as an insult to the work done by houseless advocates.
